This is the maximum capacity the load cell is designed for. The load cell will output a signal that is proportional to any force applied up to and beyond this value. In general, it’s not recommended to exceed the capacity by more than 10% or damage may result.
A connector is physically attached to the load cell. You will require a matting connector (usually sold separately).
Cable 2, 5 or 10m:
The cable is connected directly to the load cell and exits through a cable gland. The cable end will have flying leads and a screen for connection to your equipment.
This is the standard output of a load cell. When a voltage is applied to the load cell the output signal is a mV value proportional to the load applied. eg If the load cell is a 2.0 mV/V and is powered by 10V the signal at full load would be 20mV (2.0x10V); at half load 10mV etc…. If the same load cell was powered by 5V the output at full load would be 10mV (2.0x 5V); at half load 5mV; etc…. Load cells produce an analogue signal, so the resolution you can see will be dependent on the electronics, not the load cell.
PC USB Module:
This is a small in-line module, which converts the standard mV output into data that can be displayed directly on a PC/laptop/tablet*. The free software will display real time values for one or multiple load cells. The software can also record this data to a .CSV file, which can be imported into a program such as Excel.
(*If using a tablet it must be a Windows tablet)
Supplied with our Amp4 Handheld Display. The load cell and display will be supplied set up together, so they can be used straight out of the box.
This module outputs a voltage signal rather than a mV signal. Please note the signal is +ve only. Please let us know how to calibrate your load cell. eg 0-5V = 0 to full compression, 0-5V = 0 to full tension or 0-5V = full tension(0V) to no load(2.5V) to full compression(5V). If you don’t specify otherwise we will set the load cell up as 0-5V = no load to full compression only. You can let us know how you would like the load cell set up by adding a note to the “Customer notes box” on the checkout page, or by separate email.

4-20mA (3 wire):
This is current based module which outputs 4-20mA.The module has a separate supply and signal line. Setup – please see 5-10V modules above.
4-20mA (2 wire):
This is current based module which outputs 4-20mA.The module is ‘loop’ powered. Setup – please see 5-10V modules above.
The load cell is supplied with our Amp7 Midi transmitter. The transmitter works with all our wireless telemetry products (Wireless Load Cell Telemetry). If you don’t already have a compatible Handheld Display or Wireless PC-USB module, you’ll need to add one to your basket, or you won’t be able to see/read the data. Normally the transmitter is mounted close to the load cell and connected via a short length of cable (see Termination option). There are screw terminals in the transmitter to allow easy connection/disconnection from the load cell.

We provide the following calibration traceable to national standards (If you require UKAS calibration then please add this as a separate item. You can find all UKAS option here).
Single Point Calibration Certificate:
This is the standard calibration certificate supplied with a new load cell and it provides the load cell output at full load (eg for a 10kN load cell you may get the calibration point 1.9998 mV/V @ 10.0 kN). Most instruments draw a mathematical straight line between Zero and the maximum output and display any input as a value extrapolated from this line. The calibration certificate will also provide confirmation that the load cell conforms to the specification.
If you select this option we will provide a 5 point calibration certificate instead of the single point certificate. Output values are provided at the following percentages of full load 20%, 40%, 60%, 80% and 100%.
Tension and Compression:
As above but with 5 points in tension and 5 points in compression.
UKAS accredited Calibration:
UKAS Certified Calibrations Certificates for your load cell or load cell and indicator. We can arrange for your calibration to be carried out by a UKAS accredited lab.
